Its areas of focus include the comparative study of literature, cultural movements, and the arts; and literary and cultural theory. Contributors are encouraged to apply a variety of critical, historical, and intertextual methods of analysis. Essays that debate theoretical issues confronting the field of literary studies (including questions about the status of comparative literature) are also welcome.
